The title for this post is a little sarcastic; how many people out there thought Liam Neeson wasn’t in “The Dark Knight Rises” after various articles stating that he was, in fact, in a little portion of the film? I don’t know–maybe I’m just viewing this bit of confirmation as “Duh!” news, but it’s still a confirmation, and confirmation is everything.
According to Forbes, Warner Bros. has confirmed that Liam Neeson is, in fact, going to be in “The Dark Knight Rises.” Now that its confirmed that he’s going to be back, it’s obvious who he’s going to be playing–Ra’s al Ghul.
This news was revealed in the production notes for Warner Bros. other film starring Neeson, “Wrath of the Titans.” You can download the production notes here if you want to see for yourself.
Sure, I’m being all “whatever” about Neeson’s confirmation in the film, because to me, that’s not the real spoiler surrounding Neeson’s involvement. The real spoiler is how he’s being used in the film, something we still don’t really know. Some set reports have indicated that there might be a Lazarus pit, but seeing how this film is a realistic take on the Batman universe, who knows if the Lazarus pit (if that’s even what it’s being called in the film) will actually provide immortality. That’s something I really want to learn about.
In any case, we can see how Neeson’s character will be used July 20, when “The Dark Knight Rises” will swing into theaters. What do you think? Am I being way too jaded about the “spoiler”? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
