Mel Gibson has recently had another meltdown and his Judah Maccabee film has been put on hold for now, but Gibson could still be transformed by Robert Rodriguez in the sequel to “Machete,” “Machete Kills.”
According to CinemaBlend and Deadline, Gibson could be playing alongside Michelle Williams in the grindhouse-esque film, and, according to Deadline, Gibson is in “serious discussions” to play a supporting role.
I know the site said “serious discussions,” but still, we’ll have to see if this is true; this could still end up like the “The Hangover 2” situation in which Gibson was supposed to have a cameo, but was eventually denied the role due to some of the cast members feeling uncomfortable due to his earlier anti-Semitic rant.
“Machete Kills,” according to Deadline, will involve Machete getting drafted by the U.S. government in order to track an arms dealer through Mexico before the dealer can launch a rocket. The film will have Danny Trejo reprise his role as Machete. Gibson can be seen in “Get The Gringo,” which will not go to theaters, but directly to DirecTV as well as video on demand and DVD.
