The sixth film of the “Fast and the Furious” series is beginning to line up their cast, and while some will be reprising their roles, there will be a new villain in town.
According to CinemaBlend and Twitch, Luke Evans has been asked to star in the film as the villain. Originally, Jason Statham was rumored to play the villain against the protagonist characters, played by Vin Diesel and Paul Walker, but Evans seems to be the guy they are going for now.
Also, actors that are expected to come back aside from Diesel and Walker are Dwayne Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez. Rodriguez is not only coming back to “Fast and the Furious,” but she’s also set to star in the sequel to “Machete,” “Machete Kills.”
According to CinemaBlend, Rodriguez confirmed her involvement in the next chapter of the “Machete” saga, and according to Variety, “Machete Kills” will begin filming in Texas this May. As reported earlier, Mel Gibson has been asked to play the villain of the film, but nothing’s official at the moment.
