The first official movie trailer for director Ruben Fleischer’s (30:Minutes or Less , Zombieland) ‘The Gangster Squad’ has finally arrived in promotion of its October 19th release. Judging by the first look the crime drama looks entertaining with the cast being the biggest bonus. Filled with both seasoned actors and rising stars, ‘The Gangster Squad’ features Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Nicke Nolte, Giovanni Ribisi, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone. The plot follows “the LAPD’s fight to keep East Coast Mafia types out of Los Angeles in the 1940s and 50s.”
Seen in the teaser is Nolte as the gruff Bill Parker, the new chief of police in Los Angeles. A crazy Penn as Mickey Cohen is also present along with Gosling, who seems to be the playboy of the pack, Anthony Makie, Michael Peña, a serious Brolin, and Stone all dolled up. There’s plenty of action, guns, fights, threats and some surprising Jay-Z playing out in the back drop as the squad takes control of the chaos, fighting fire with fire. Filmed in Los Angeles, the movie comes from writers Will Beall and Paul Lieberman. Check out the trailer for yourself below and tell us what you think. ‘The Gangster Squad’ looks pretty impressive.
