While recently speaking with the website Collider, actor Tom Hardy expressed his feelings about being the newest villain in the forthcoming Batman installment The Dark Knight Rises. When questioned if he had any apprehension about taking on the role Hardy replied, “No, I don’t think absolutely.” Adding, “That would be putting myself in a competition with somebody who’s clearly brilliant. And it’s not a question of whose talent is greater or whose work is greater. It’s just trying to be the best that we can be, rather then trying to be better than somebody else. I’m not trying to be better than somebody else.” Hardy then went on to praise the late Heath Ledger who impressed all with his performance as the Joker. “What he did was amazing. That’s that. I’ve got a part I’ve got to play, and I want to play my part.”
Before playing his part Hardy had his work cut out for him since the actor admits he knew little when it came to the world of Batman. “I had no immediate knowledge of the world of Batman at all. I’m quite incubated.” Are you ready to see Hardy in the role of Bane when ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ hits theaters this coming July 20th? Let us know below.
