The History Channel has released a new sneak preview of the final installment of its hit three-part mini-series, ‘Hatfields & McCoys.’ The last segment of the drama series airs tonight at 9pm ET.
‘Hatfields & McCoys’ became the number one non-sports telecast in ad supported cable television history. It garnered over 13.9 million total viewers in its premiere run on Monday and Tuesday nights.
The mini-series, which was directed by Kevin Reynolds, follows a legendary family feud that spanned decades and nearly launched a war between West Virginia and Kentucky. Kevin Costner plays Devil Anse Hatfield and Bill Paxton portrays Randall McCoy, who were close friends until the end of the Civil War.
When they return to their respective homes, Hatfield in West Virginia and McCoy across the Tug River border in Kentucky, they’re met with increasing tensions. Their resentments lead to a war between the families. As friends and neighbors join the fight, they almost bring the two states to another Civil War.
