SDI Media has opened its newly renovated state of the art facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The expansion comes after the media group previously announced facility builds and expansions in Manila, Philippines and Munich, Germany for later this year. SDI will also be building a new studio in Milan, Italy.
SDI has established a strong presence in Malaysia after being the first global localization prover to enter the region in 2008. In four years, the group outgrew its previous location, and has relocated to custom-built studios in the PJ Trade Centre building in Damansara Perdana.
The new facility features four newly built studios with individual control rooms and a fully enable subtitling operation. SDI Malaysia offers new services and added support for clients, including recording, editing and project management services. It offers complete dubbing and subtitling solutions entirely in-house.
SDI is the world’s leading provider of localization services with owned-and-operated facilities in 33 countries worldwide. The expansion increases its services to Malaysia’s growing localization industry as well as providing additional support to clients in the surrounding regions.
Walter Schonfeld, the CEO and President of SDI, said the company “has had great success in Malaysia by focusing on our customers and the quality of our offerings. We recognized the need to provide additional resources for our clients in this market, and in Asia.” He added that “We believe that our expanded offerings in this facility is one step in us meeting this goal.”
