The first trailer for Stephen Frears movie ‘Lay The Favorite’ has been released. The gambling picture features Bruce Willis in the starring role as a professional bettor by the name of Dink Helmowitz who finds himself in a variety of tough situations, one of which includes his jealous wife who has it out for his attractive employee, Beth Raymer, a former waitress, played by Rebecca Hall. Willis is also joined by an amazing cast line up of Josh Jackson from Fringe, the always hilarious Vince Vaughn, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Laura Prepon of That 70’s Show, Frank Grillo, John Carroll Lynch, and Joel Murray of Mad Men.
While the flick received less than stellar reviews after debuting at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, the trailer isn’t half bad with Hall playing Willis’ good luck charm while Jackson portrays her love interest in the world of high stakes gambling. The script was written by from the memoirs of Beth Raymer and D.V. DeVincentis. Check out the trailer for ‘Lay The Favorite’ below and tell us what you think. The movie has been picked up by The Weinstein Company and will be released in the US sometime this year with a UK release date of June 22nd.
