The family of Jun Lin, the 33-year-old university student who was allegedly killed and dismembered by Canadian porn star Luka Rocco Manotta, arrived in Montreal on Tuesday, CBS News is reporting. The family traveled to Canada to collect his remains and meet with authorities. Lin’s parents met with police and officials at Concordia University, where he was studying computers.
Parts of Lin’s body were mailed to Canada’s two main political parties last week. A torso was found in Montreal, in a suitcase on a garbage dump, outside the apartment building where Lin was reportedly killed. What is believed to be a foot and hand were mailed separately to two Vancouver schools and delivered on Tuesday. Police are still searching for Lin’s head to surface.
Investigators believe Magnotta committed and videotaped the murder, and later posted the video online. The video shows abound, blindfolded man naked on a bed being stabbed to death with an ice pick, then dismembered.
Magnotta, who police say was dating Lin, was caught in a cafe in Berlin. Lin’s friend and fellow student, Zoya De frias Lakhany, said “I don’t know under what cirumstances they knew each other, but for someone to target him, I never would have thought this.”
