Alloy Digital has announced that it has acquired YouTube’s top entertainment provider, Clevver Media. With the move, the leading media company for the 12-32 demographic and the top-10 video network’s channels have become number one in total YouTube subscribers, totaling over eight million. Alloy’s channels have now become YouTube’s largest content providers.
Clevver Media’s seven entertainment and celebrity focused YouTube channels include ClevverTV, ClevverMovies, ClevverMusic, ClevverGames, ClevverNews, ClevverStyle and the Spanish ClevverTeve. The channels not only attract the hottest Hollywood talent, but also more monthly views from the 12-34 demographic than the next seven most popular entertainment channels combined.
Since launching in 2006, Clevver has become known for providing entertainment news geared toward the digital generation. It consistently ranks in the top-10 YouTube networks.
Alloy Digital’s CEO, Matt Diamond, said “through an aggressive acquisition strategy and organic growth, we continue to strengthen our connection with the 12-34 demographic with quality programming tailored to their pop culture cravings and distributed via their preferred media platforms.” He added that Clevver represents a logical step in expanding the media group’s entertainment brand.
The acquisition of Clevver makes Alloy Digital one of YouTube’s top content producers. The two companies own and operate five of YouTube’s 100 premium channel offerings. Combined, the two companies’ YouTube channels have received more than 3.35 billion views.
