Magic Mike’s lead actor Alex Pettyfer who plays the stripping rookie in the Steven Soderbergh production has picked up another role. Pettyfer will appear in Lee Daniels latest project entitled ‘The Butler’. The movie already includes a cast line-up of well known actors such as Forest Whitaker, Jane Fonda, Oprah Winfrey, Minka Kelly, Cuba Gooding Jr., Terence Howard, Alan Rickman, Lenny Kravitz, David Oyelowo, and a rumored Vanessa Redgrave.
The time period piece will chronicle the life of Forest Whitaker’s character Eugene Allen, an African American butler who was employed at the White House for 34 years. The movie will explore Allen’s front row seat to the assassinations of John F Kennedy, Robert Kennedy Jr., and Martin Luthor King Jr., as well as his work under eight presidents. Filming on the movie will kick off this summer in July in New Orleans with few details on Pettyfer’s role as Thomas Westphall. Pettyfer is also attached to star in the movie ‘Diamond Dogs’ from director Pascal Chaumeil. The Allan Wait book adaption follows a high school football player who accidentally murders a classmate. The student’s death is then cleaned up by his father, the chief of police in a small Nevada town.
