Filmmaker Peter Berg, who has seen better days since the failure of his movie Battleship, has signed on to a new project entitled Father’s Day. The Friday Night Lights helmer will bring the book by the same name from writer Buzz Bissinger to the big screen for Universal. Bissinger is also the writer behind the story of FNL. The movie’s plot follows the real life story of the author who has twins, one with a learning disability. To overcome their relationship troubles the pair go on a road trip. During their travels they finally begin to understand one another in a new way.
Aside from his work on Father’s Day, Berg is also busy working on the movie Lone Survivor, a book adaption that chronicles four Navy Seals on route in the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border on a reconnaissance mission after learning about an al Qaeda leader rumored to be close to Bin Laden. Actors Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch and Ben Foster are all set to star in the flick. Berg’s other project is the highly anticipated Friday Night Light’s movie that has fans of the series gushing.
