If you’re one of the millions of people who made “The Avengers” one of the biggest box office hits in history, you’re probably aching to get the film on DVD. Well, you only have to wait a few more months before you can buy the film!
“Marvel’s The Avengers,” which crossed the tremendous $600 million domestic box office threshold June 26 (only the third movie in history to accomplish this feat), will be on DVD, and Blu-ray September 25!
The premium four-disc Blu-ray combo pack provides home viewers five different ways to enjoy “Marvel’s The Avengers”– Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD, Digital Copy and the digital download of “Avengers Assemble: Music From and Inspired by the Motion Picture”.
Extras include a gag reel (a Marvel Studios first), conversations with Joss Whedon and the cast, behind-the-scenes looks at the visual effects and cinematography used in the film, the creation of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Helicarrier, Soundgarden’s “Live to Rise” music video, deleted scenes and more!
Also, for the first time ever, fans will be able to gain unprecedented access to exclusive content through “The Avengers Initiative: A Marvel Second Screen App.” The app works by downloading it onto a secondary device, and new content will be released to the app bi-weekly in July and August and weekly in September up until the home release of “The Avengers.” The app will also provide a full immersive experience accompanying the film on Blu-ray. Some of the content includes special access to the S.H.I.E.L.D. database, becoming a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, invites to “special missions,” links to character profiles, stories and scenes, interactive Marvel digital reader comic books and much more. Owners of the app will get push notifications whenever new content is uploaded and available.
