Head writer of ‘Saturday Night Live’, Seth Meyers, has shared that he has no interest in joining the ‘Live! With Kelly’ show. Meyers, who was a part of several celebrities to step into the spot as guest host until they find a replacement for Regis Philbin, shared that taking on such an enormous responsibility isn’t possible for him right now. Not to mention that he loves his job at ‘SNL’. “I know [Regis’ replacement] is a very important thing down there,” Meyers shared when asked about taking on the role of permanent host. “But, right now, what I would say to you: I’m really in love with the job I have. I’m very excited to be going back [to ‘SNL’] for the election season, which is always fun.”
As fans know, ‘SNL’ really enjoys following the election, getting in some of their best jokes. Meyers was rumored to be part of three likely candidates for the position that Philbin left behind months ago. Right now it looks like former football pro Michael Strahan and singer Josh Grobin are in the running to join Kelly Ripa on the talk show as her new side kick. Too bad Meyers couldn’t pull of both gigs. He really brought excitement to the show.
