Lionsgate’s hit sci-fi action adventure ‘The Hunger Games’ will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and digital download at 12:01am on Saturday, August 18. The home entertainment releases will include three hours of previously unavailable bonus materials in the biggest home entertainment launch in Lionsgate’s history.
‘The Hunger Games,’ which grossed nearly $400 million at the North American box office and is approaching $600 million worldwide, will debut on two-disc DVD with digital copy and two-disc Blu-ray with digital copy. The bonus features include an eight-part documentary, ‘The World is Watching: Making of ‘The Hunger Games.”
There is also an interview with director Gary Ross; examinations into the global success of the book series by Suzanne Collins on which the film franchise is based; and the creation of the control room in the movie. The Blu-ray will also feature the exclusive content, ‘Preparing for The Games: A Director’s Process.’
A Blu-ray and DVD special feature clip, featuring interviews with Ross and star Jennifer Lawrence and behind-the-scenes footage, premiered at San Diego Comic Con, in preparation for the home release. Check it out below.
