Food Network’s ‘The Great Food Truck Race,’ which will allow competitors to win their own truck for the first time in the show’s history, will return for its third season on Sunday, August 19 at 10pm ET/PT. Chef Tyler Florence will host the season, in which eight three-person teams will be provided with a vehicle for the race. The grand prize winner will get to keep their food truck and will be granted a $50,000 cash prize to start their dream business.
The trucks will include Barbie Babes, Coast of Atlanta, Momm’a Grizzly Brub, Nonna’ Kitchenette, Pizza Mike’s, Pop-a-Waffle, Seoul Sausage and Under the Crust. During the premiere, the contestants will arrive in Long Beach, and will then be sent to the place where the food truck business started, Los Angeles.
Bob Tuschman, the General Manager and Senior Vice President of Food Network, said “We love food trucks because they offer a relatively low cost, infinitely creative route to entering the food world.” Bob Madden, the General Manager and Senior Vice President, Digital, Scripps Networks Food Category, added “Food Network fans have long been asking for on-the-go access to the food and places they’ve seen on television and want to discover for themselves.”
