The cast and crew of the hit AMC post-apocalyptic drama ‘The Walking Dead’ hit Hall H at San Diego Comic Con yesterday, and unveiled the first season 3 trailer, Screen Rant is reporting. The trailer features the characters Michonne and Andrea together; the town of Woodbury with its terrifying new leader, The Governor; and Rick and the group contemplating their future.
Executive producer Glen Mazzara teased about the season 3 opening moments, saying the show opens in a prison. The panel also hinted that the season will be faster-paced, comparing it to the action-packed latter half of season two.
‘The Walking Dead’ main star, Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, said “It’s a really interesting way to start the season. I certainly think this season you meet him (Rick) at a place where he has been pushing people away to protect his son, and in so doing he loses his humanity.” Lincoln added that his character has isolated himself from his fellow survivors and his wife.
Laurie Holden, who plays Andrea, also spoke during the panel, saying season three will be very different from her. “She’s met this alpha female (in Michonne) and they become very good friends. It’s wonderful storytelling as they battle the elements in this apocalyptic world.”
‘The Walking Dead’s third season begins on October 14 at 9pm. Check out the trailer below.
