While at San Diego Comic Con last weekend, Robert Downey Jr. discussed what fans should expected from his anticipated sequel, ‘Iron Man 3,’ as well as the success of last spring’s ‘The Avengers,’ Comic Book Movies is reporting. Of ‘Iron Man 3,’ which hits theaters on May 3, 2013, the actor said the second sequel in his hit sci-fi action adventure series isn’t as serious as ‘The Dark Knight.’ But his character, Tony, “definitely has, and always has historically in the comic books even more so, his inner demons.”
Downey added that ‘Iron Man 2’ did touch on Tony’s demons. “But if you think about someone who saw the skies open up and came through a wormhole and fought off alien species, suffice to say he’s a little rattled,” Downey also said.
Also speaking of the stunts to be featured in ‘Iron Man 3,’ Downey said “While I’m still physically able, I’d like to leave it all on the field.” He added that “I would like there to be ten moments where people wonder how I was stupid enough to actually do that stunt.”
Also speaking of ‘The Avengers,’ Downey joked about the success of the action sci-fi thriller. “Every time one of my movies comes out, I think it’s going to be the number three biggest movie of all time…It’s really weird, it’s like I cried wolf and one actually showed up this time!”
