Food Network has revealed the cast for its returning prime-time competition series ‘The Next Iron Chef: Redemption,’ with the most of the competitors returning for a second chance at the ultimate culinary title. The fifth season is about redemption, with the competitors trying to prove their skills are worthy of the Iron Chef title.
The cast of ‘The Next Iron Chef: Redemption’ includes Nate Appleman, Amanda Freitag, Eric Greenspan and Jehangir Mehta from ‘The Next Iron Chef: Season Two.’ Also returning, from ‘The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs,’ include Elizabeth Falkner, Alex Guarnaschelli and Spike Mendelsohn.
The first-time ‘Next Iron Chef’ competitors include Tim Love and Marcel Vigneron. The 10th slot will go to the winner of a web-exclusive competition taking place on FoodNetwork.com. The four chefs taking part in the web battle include Duskie Ester and Robert Trevino, who previously competed on ‘The Next Iron Chef.’ The newcomers include Lee Anne Wong and Madison Cowan.
‘The Next Iron Chef: Redemption’ premieres on Sunday, November 4 at 9pm ET/PT. Alton Brown will return to hos the eight-episode season, which recently completed production in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
The contestants of ‘The Next Iron Chef: Redemption’ will compete in the legendary Kitchen Stadium. The winner will join the ranks of chefs including Bobby Flay, Marc Forgione, Jose Garces, Masaharu Morimoto, Michael Symon and Geoffrey Zakarian as a member of the Chairman’s team on ‘Iron Chef America.’
