Actor and director Sean Penn, who last helmed the movie ‘Into the Wild’ back in 2007, is said to be in talks to step behind the camera once again according to reports coming down from Variety. Penn is being courted to take the lead position for Warner Brothers latest project ‘Crazy for the Storm’, a memoir of writer Norman Ollestad. In what sounds like the perfect Danny Boyle plot, the movie will chronicle “Ollestad’s relationship with his father and how the skills his father instilled in him helped him survive after a plane crash stranded him on a mountaintop” at the age of just 11 years old. The big screen adaption has been penned by writer Will Fetters of ‘The Lucky One’ and ‘Remember Me’.
‘Crazy for the Storm’ is slated to be produced by Bill Gerber of Gerber with the help of both Fonda Snyder and Rob Weisbach. A targeted premiere date has yet to be announced. Sean Penn’s previous directorial work includes the Peter Gabriel video entitled ‘Play’, ‘Bruce Springsteen: The Complete Video Anthology 1978-2000’, ‘The Pledge’,’The Indian Runner’, ‘The Crossing Guard’, among others. Penn just finished up on his role in ‘Gangster Squad’ and is rumored to a bea part of the movie ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’.
