Casting for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire continues to forge ahead with the latest addition, Smallville’s Alan Ritchson who is well known for his role as Aqua man in the long running superboy series that came to a close last year. Confirming the news, Lionsgate Entertainment revealed that the actor has inked a deal to portray District 1 tribute Gloss. While the performer may not be well known, in a press release it was revealed that Ritchson was chosen for his experience and his looks.
In the ‘The Hunger Games’ sequel ‘Catching Fire’ Gloss is a Career Tribute that comes from the 1st District. “He will work aside Cashmere, his sister, for a chance at victory in the Third Quarter Quell of the 75th Annual Hunger Games against tributes Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, and others.” Following the announcement of his casting, Ritchson tweeted “No words can express [what it’s like] to have the chance to portray Gloss @TheHungerGames… To be part of this great a trilogy… just so grateful.” He is well known or his roles in ‘Blue Mountain State’, ‘Spring Break 83’, ‘90210’, ‘Head Case’ and more.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be released to theaters on November 22nd 2013.
