Vice President Joe Biden attacked Mitt Romney today as he said the Republican Presidential Candidate is out of touch on foreign policy, ABC News is reporting. Biden attacked Romney while speaking to a crowd at West York Area High School in Pennsylvania, particularly with the war in Afghanistan, and potential wars in Syria and Iran.
Biden added that Romney “wants to move from cooperation to confrontation with Putin’s Russia.” During the Republican National Convention on Thursday, Romney said “every American is less secure today” because President Barack Obama “has failed to deal with Iran’s nuclear weapons.” He also criticized the president’s foreign policy with Israel and Russia.
Romney said Obama’s “eager to give Russia’s president Putin the flexibility he desires after the election. Under my presidency our friends will see more loyalty and Mr. Putin will see a little less flexibility.”
Biden also attacked Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan, who gave a speech on Wednesday. He said “the truest measure of any society is how it treats those who cannot defend or care for themselves.” Biden said he wanted to change the quote to say “I think the truest measure of a political party is how ti treats those who cannot defend or care for themselves.”
Biden’s stop in York was the first of the vice president’s two-day “road to Charlotte” tour before the Democratic National Convention is held there this week. President Obama is also conducting his own “Road to Charlotte” tour.
