The Chinese actor Wang Xueqi has reportedly now joined the ranks of ‘Iron Man 3’ and will play Radioactive Man according to Geek Tyrant. The casting comes after actor Andy Lau is said to have dropped out of his role in the Robert Downey Jr. superhero picture that is being directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss bang Bang). In the third installment Xueqi will take the reigns as the man whose real name is Chen Lu. He is described as both a nuclear physicist and a communist agent who first came to be back in the 1963 from creators Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Radioactive Man is known for his allegiance to Mandarin.
Unfortunately without plot details for ‘Iron Man 3’ yet to be revealed, fans at this point can only guess what’s to come for Radioactive Man and how he plays into the world of Tony Stark and his cohorts. Xueqi joins the cast of returning actors Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau and Guy Pierce. Xueqi has previously appeared in such films as ‘The Founding of a Republic’, ‘Bodyguards and Assassins’ and ‘Warriors of Heaven and Earth’. ‘Iron Man 3’ will hit theaters on May 3rd 2013 with a UK release date of April 26, 2013.
