Director and writer John Kasden’s (In the Land of Women) latest coming of age drama ‘The First Time’ has released an official trailer for those that missed its much talked about debut at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The film, that could pass as this generation’s ‘American Pie’ or ‘Sixteen Candles’ (minus the panties) follows Britt Robertson of ‘Dan in Real Life’ and Dylan O’Brien (Teen Wolf) as two teens who are about to make the big decision to lose their virginity to one another after making an unexpected connection at a party. The movie also stars actor Craig Roberts (Submarine) and Victoria Justice.
‘The First Time’ trailer has a few laughs to lighten the load as Robertson contemplates losing her virginity to an older guy that seems to be the safe bet until she meets O’Brien’s character who has his own love issues. From there the teaser previews scenes of the duo’s relationship as they decide what to do about the milestone moment that has taken over their weekend. Watch the first look below and get the official synopsis. The movie will hit theaters on October 19th.
“Dave (O’Brien) is a high school senior who spends most of his time pining away over a girl he can’t have. Aubrey (Robertson), a junior with artistic aspirations, has a hot boyfriend who doesn’t quite understand her or seem to care. Dave and Aubrey meet one night at a party. A casual conversation sparks an instant connection, and, over the course of a weekend, things turn magical, romantic, complicated and funny as Aubrey and Dave discover what it’s like to fall in love for the first time. Director/screenwriter Jonathan Kasdan skillfully captures a moment of adolescence that rings resolutely true.”
