Not shy to the Shockya music page, Dynasty Electric finished last year on a high-note by hitting number two on Shockya’s Top 10 Albums of 2011 . The Brooklyn rockers, Jenny Electrik and Seth Misterka, proved that the electronica genre is expansive with their psychedelically beat infused album, “Golden Arrows”. To those DJs and electronic dance music (EDM) artists who I once perceived as talentless, I hereby apologize for my false accusations. You can thank, Dynasty Electric, for this egoless declaration.
More than a year since the release of the album, Dynasty Electric continue to revolutionize the sounds of EDM with their latest single, “Just Like That”. Misterka can make a redundant beat less repetitious with his intricate layering of eclectic instrumental sounds. Electrik’s airy and whimsical vocals take the playfully catchy beat and tone it down a notch causing the track to steer even further from the repetitious curse of EDM.
Unlike handfuls of artists today, Dynasty Electric know how to add variety to their sound without compromising their foundation and integrity as musicians. “Just Like That” brings a punky flare to their repertoire, but holds true to their grassroots of fanciful electronic rock music.
You can take a listen to “Just Like That” in Victoria’s Secret’s national television commercial.
