Sixteen of the world’s most talented break dancers, including 2011 World Champion Roxrite, will compete for the coveted title of the world’s best breaker on December 8, during the Red Bull BC One in Rio de Janeiro. The coveted title honors the extraordinary skills of individual B-Boys from around the world. Besides Roxrite, the breakers competing in the competition include America’s DomKey, Vicious Victor and Kid David; Klesio of Brazil; Morocco’s Lil Zoo; France’s Mounir and Junior; Shorty Force and Differ from South Korea; Bulgaria’s Slav; Arex from Colombia; the UK’s Sunni Alkolil from Russia; Issei of Japan and Mexico’s Hill.
Before Roxrie won the Red Bull BC One World Finals in Moscow last year, he won first place in 70 different competitions. His style is rooted in the fundamentals and stresses technique, and has earned him the reputation of the “B-Boy’s B-Boy.” His previous quests for the Red Bull BC One Championship have been highlighted in the 2007 feature length documentary ‘Turn It Loose’ and the 2012 television series ‘Breakin’ Reality.’ While discussing the significance of the Red Bull BC One, Roxrite said, “It is our championship, our Super Bowl, our NBA Finals, and I am proud to be the champion!”
The panel of judges for the Red Bull BC One includes former world champion and Red Bull BC One All Star Neguin of Brazil, Red Bull BC One All Star Taisuke from Japan, America’s Moy, Niek from Holland and Germany’s Storm.
