The highly anticipated sci-fi action adventure sequel ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ has arrived with a new announcement video, which is now playing on iTunes Movie Trailers. The follow-up to the hit 2009 reboot, ‘Star Trek,’ was directed by returning filmmaker J.J. Abrams, and will be released into theaters on May 17, 2013 by Paramount Pictures. The second film will once again feature Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg and John Cho, as well as new star Benedict Cumberbatch.
‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ follows the Enterprise crew when they’re called back home. They find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization that has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving Earth in a state of crisis.
With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk, played by Pine, leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. The Enterprise crew is then propelled into an epic game of life and death, and love will be challenged. Friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
