The love story of “Like Crazy” was memorable, but what proved to be more unforgettable was the magnifying aura of the trailer’s theme song, “Dead Hearts”, by the Canadian band, Stars. The obsessive nature this track instills within a listener is unavoidable due to the passionate and simplistic dialogue between the female and male vocalists. Admittedly late to the craze behind Stars, my interest has yet to wane from the outfit since the release of the 2011 film.
Officially caught up on the outfit’s five prior releases, my ears are ready to tackle Stars’ sixth full-length album, “The North”, which dropped September 4 via Soft Revolution Records. Naturally, the quintet will be kicking off a North American spring tour in support of its release. Stars will be gracing stages in Australia and Asia before making way to North America. The spring tour will begin in Burlington, VT at Higher Ground and make stops in Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago, Vancouver and many others.
Since not every fan will be able to attend Stars’ Asian tour dates, the band partnered with Pledge Music to allow everybody to be part of the tour. Stars will offer merch bundles for these Asian shows along with a variety of other items, such as a live EP from the tour, posters, handwritten lyrics and more.
Celebrate the upcoming Stars tour by checking out the band’s brand new remix of their single, “Backlines”, done by Eight and Half (members of broken Social Scene and The Stills).
