A second trailer for director Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Side Effects’ has been released. The thriller stars Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as an anxious women who turns to prescription medication with the upcoming release of her imprisoned husband, played by actor Channing Tatum. The ‘Magic Mike’ star seems to be a staple in most of Soderbergh’s movies nowadays. Judd Law and Catherine Zeta Jones also star. Similar to the first teaser trailer dropped months ago, this latest look doesn’t offer more to the story that centers on side effects of a drug that looks to result in murder and extra marital affairs.
The script, for what appears to be one of the last film’s for Soderbergh, was written by Scott Z. Burns of ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ fame. The director, who has repeatedly spoke about retiring, will also release his TV Movie ‘Behind the Candelabra’ with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon on HBO this coming May. Meanwhile, ‘Side Effects’ is set to arrive sooner with a theater release date of Feb. 8th. Watch the second trailer below and tell us what you think of Soderbergh’s latest efforts.
