Jennifer Lawrence recently exercised her funny bone on “Saturday Night Live” Jan. 19. But whether or not you thought the “Silver Linings Playbook” and “The Hunger Games” star was the best part of the episode, Entertainment Weekly’s Hillary Busis thought the episode wasn’t the series’ best.
To be fair to the show, you never know if the episode of “SNL” you’re going to see will be hit-or-miss. It’s a live show, and you never know quite how the skits will hit the audience. I’m sure that, even though those of us who grew up with the ‘1990s casts of “SNL” believe those seasons never had a bad episode, they also had the occasional stinker. But, it does seem like the 2000s era of “SNL” has a lot more misses than hits.
Busis said Lawrence was able to shake off some early nerves and become one of the few highlights of the night, but not much else rose to the occasion.
