There’s some extreme news coming out of Latino Review and I have to say that I’m very excited by it.
According to the website, DC and Warner Bros. is planning some very big moves concerning the “Justice League” film and all future DC films. Rumor has it that not only is Christopher Nolan going to produce the long-gestating “Justice League” epic, but will be over all future DC films! According to Spill.com, this is similar to how Joss Whedon has now become the guru for all of Marvel’s film properties.
Even more exciting is that Latino Review states that Christian Bale is rumored to have signed on to reprise his role as Batman!
Of course, all of this is a rumor at this point; Latino Review said that Warner Brothers is currently trying to keep the news quiet in order to keep all the focus on the soon-to-be-released “Man of Steel” film. But if this is true, this is some of the best news I’ve heard in a while when it comes to comic book films. I’m sure comic book fans will like it because not only will it mean more continuity between films, but it will also mean that comic book films are becoming just as serialized as their paper counterparts. What I’m getting at is that some of the big things about comic book culture is categorizing storylines, having arcs developed extensively by one writer or a small core group of writers, etc. By having a guiding force over a movie series, the films are already mimicking the comic book arcs they are drawn from.
To keep up the “Justice League” hype, check out this fan video finale to the “Superman Doomsday” / “World’s Finest”/ “Justice League” movie fan campaign. It’s pretty stellar.
