New official clips from director Ken Scott’s upcoming comedy ‘Starbuck’ have been released. Entertainment One will release the film in New York and Los Angeles on Friday, with a national rollout to follow. The box office success in Quebec, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival as a Gala Presentation, stars Patrick Huard, Julie Le Breton and Antoine Bertrand.
‘Starbuck’ follows David Wozniak (Huard), a 42-year-old loveable but perpetual screw up who decides to take control of his life. After being a habitual sperm donor in his youth, he discovers that he’s the biological father of 533 children. Out of all his children, 142 are trying to force the fertility clinic to reveal the true identity of the donor, whose code name is Starbuck.
The comedy also stars Le Breton as Valerie, David’s long suffering girlfriend who suddenly finds herself pregnant, and is reluctant to raise her child with the unreliable David. Bertrand stars as David’s longtime friend, Paul, an attorney who takes on his case while trying to disabuse him of the joys of parenthood.
The English language remake rights for ‘Starbuck’ were sold to Dreamworks. The remake will also be helmed by Scott, and will star Vince Vaughn. The film, under the name of ‘The Delivery Man,’ is set to be released on October 4.
