Analysis
So the only shocking thing about Evil Dead reigning supreme on its opening weekend is that the remake cost $17 million to create. Based on the low-budget horror franchise from the ’80s, this will surely make a bloody profit during its theatrical campaign and snag even more during its DVD/On-Demand run as the massive cult following will need to own this.
The Croods in week #3 is showing tremendous staying power dropping just 21% from last weekend. Its domestic total has climbed to $125.8 million
Oz the Great and Powerful currently holds the longest streak in the top ten with 5 weeks. It’s domestic total has floated to $212.7 million.
This Friday brings audiences the horror-spoof Scary Movie 5 and the sports bio-pic, 42. Reviews will be right here my fellow Shockers!
