Anchor Bay Films has partnered with CineTel Films once again to release the next chapter in the controversial ‘I Spit on Your Grave’ film franchise. ‘I Spit on Your Grave 2.’ the follow-up to 2010’s crime-horror-thriller remake ‘I Spit on Your Grave,’ wrapped production late last year. Director Steven R. Monroe, who helmed the remake, returned to direct the sequel.
“We had a great experience working with CineTel on the 2010 remake,’ said Kevin Kasha, Executive Vice President, Acquisitions and Co-Productions, of Anchor Bay Films, a distributor of independent movies. “Both the fans and critics alike loved the film and we know that ‘I Spit on Your Grave 2’ will deliver.”
“We’re thrilled to continue our association with Anchor Bay for ‘I Spit on Your Grave 2,'” noted producer Lisa Hansen of CineTel Films, one of the oldest independent film companies, with over 30 years producing and distributing movies. “Anchor Bay was a true partner in their handling of the 2010 remake. We all knew that the die-hard fan base would be disappointed with anything less than the unrated version…the film had to be real, brutal, and honest. They walked that path lockstep with us and continue to do so as we shape the franchise.”
‘I Spit On Your Grave 2’ was co-penned by ‘Saw IV’ and ‘Chain Letter’ scribe Thomas Fenton and Neil Elman, who made his feature film writing debut. It stars Jemma Dallende in the lead role of Katie, as well as Joe Absolom as Ivan and Aleksandar Aleksiev as Nick.
