“Hobbit” fans, are you itching for some new news on what’s the latest in Middle Earth? Here’s some good and bad “Hobbit” news.
Peter Jackson has released the latest video blog from the “Desolation of Smaug” production. It’s got a lot of fun stuff, such as ’80s dwarf exercises, Orlando Bloom making sexual jokes and more. Check it out below the post.
The bad news is that “The Desolation of Smaug” will not be headed to this year’s San Diego Comic Con. For a lot of fans, this is terrible news, but personally, I’m glad it’s not showing at Comic Con.
I know that Comic Con gets a lot of films for fans to preview. Some of them are good and some of them are bad (but you might not know that if you’re surrounded by hyped-up fans excited to see something new before the rest of the country). There’s a logical explanation for it–there’s a lot to finish up on “The Desolation of Smaug” before it’s presentable.
The first “Hobbit” film, “An Unexpected Journey,” was largely a hit-or-miss film. Either you liked it or you didn’t. I saw it and I felt there were a lot of uneven tones in the film that just made viewing uncomfortable. I hoping like the dickens that Jackson is doing whatever he needs to do to make this film better than first one, because I already know I’m going to be in the theater to see it; I want to know my money is being well spent.
