Kurt Russell is currently in talks to appear in ‘Fast and Furious 7’ with returning action stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. If Russell signs on he would portray a top secret character that was originally created with actor Denzel Washington in mind for the part. According to Huffington Post, Russell’s role could have the ‘Overboard’ star tapped to make a cameo appearance in both Fast & Furious 7 and 8. Additional details surrounding Russell’s involvement in the film are sure to be revealed shortly. Universal plans to role out the seventh installment on July 11, 2014.
Russell just wrapped up work on the film ‘The Art of the Steal’ with director Jonathan Sobol. The limited release chronicles a “third-rate motorcycle daredevil and part-time art thief” who decides to try and pull off a heist with his sleazy brother. The 62-year-old actor is also attached to appear in ‘Bone Tomahawk’. The 2014 western/horror hybrid centers on a group of men who set out in the “Wild West to rescue a group of captives from cannibalistic cave dwellers.” Jennifer Carpenter, Peter Sarsgaard and Timothy Olyphant also star.
Russell is best known for his prior roles in ‘The Thing’, ‘Tombstone’, ‘Stargate’, ‘Death Proof’, ‘Backdraft’, ‘3000 Miles to Graceland’ and more.
