Ron Burgundy is now legally enjoying his Scotchy Scotch Scotch live on the air as he delivers his news reports, as Ben & Jerry’s has just announced its newest limited batch ice cream flavor. Created in honor of the legendary TV news anchor who has a penchant for all things scotch, the new flavor features butterscotch ice cream with ribbons of butterscotch swirl.
Of the new flavor, Burgundy said “Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch is a delicious ice cream and I hope Ben and Jerry consider my other suggestions. Malt liquor marshmallow, well liquor bourbon peanut butter, and cheap white wine sherbet.”
The flavor, which is being unveiled in anticipation for the December 20 release of ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,’ was officially unveiled at New York City’s Pier 36.The event kicked off with a performance by Nutty The Waterskiing Squirrel, who was featured in ‘Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.’ A Ben & Jerry’s scoop-truck, which then turned into a Channel 4 News truck, then appeared on the scene, which transported a legion of Run Burgundy look-alikes.
“Having Ben & Jerry’s celebrate the return of Ron Burgundy to the big screen with the introduction of this special ice cream is an exciting and delicious way to build anticipation for the film,” said LeeAnne Stables, President of Consumer Products at Paramount Pictures.
Scotchy Scotch Scotch is now available at participating scoop shops across the country. Pints of the flavor will arrive in stores over the next few weeks. For more information on Ben & Jerry’s, and to find a scoop shop, visit the brand’s official website.
