Friends Nick Zano (What I Like About You) and Channing Tatum (Magic Mike) are teaming up for a new CBS comedy entitled ‘Nicky’. The project’s script will follow Zano in the title role as a thirty-something year old raised in a house full of women in New Jersey. Given the chance to finally move out, Zano’s character decides to give up his freedom to stay and help raise his youngest sister. The multi-camera comedy is inspired by Zano’s real life upbringing. The ‘2 Broke Girls’ star will not only star and co-executive produce the project, but will also pen the script alongside ‘Friends’ writers Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen. Zano’s credits include ‘Happy Endings’, ‘Cougar Town’ and ‘Final Destination’.
‘Nicky’ will reunite Zano with Channing Tatum and his partner Reid Carolin who are set to produce the comedy under their banner 33 & Out Productions. The trio previously worked on ’10 Year’. Tatum and Carolin are currently working on several other projects that include the ’21 Jump Street’ follow up, ’22 Jump Street’, the sequel to ‘Magic Mike’ and Sony’s Evel Knievel biopic. Tatum is also attached to Guillermo del Toro’s animated comedy ‘Book of Life’ and has recently struck a deal with A&E for a scripted reality series.
