The upcoming stoner comedy, ‘Don Peyote,’ has scored a distribution deal with XLrator Media. The multi-platform releasing company has acquired the North American distribution rights to the film, which stars Dan Fogler, Josh Duhamel, Jay Baruchel, with special appearances by Anne Hathaway and Topher Grace. The movie will be released theatrically in Spring 2014.
‘Don Peyote’ was written and directed by Fogler and Michael Canzoniero. “I’m excited to work with the twisted creative minds at XLrator Media who, without fear or loathing, embraced our comedic magnum opus about the end of the world. If they are going to get it on 5,000 screens, they better work quickly,” the actor-filmmaker said.
The deal was negotiated by Barry Gordon and Mike Radiloff on behalf of XLrator Medi, and Delphine Perrier and Arianne Fraser of Highland Film Group, on behalf of the filmmakers. Highland Film Group will be handling international rights during AFM.
XLrator Media has released the following official synopsis for the film:
‘Don Peyote’ tells the story Warren Allman (Dan Fogler), an unemployed stoner who finally finds a purpose in life after an unpleasant encounter with a homeless man preaching the end is near. Fueled by vivid apocalyptic dreams, Warren becomes obsessed with 2012 doomsday theories and decides to make a documentary on the subject while his fiancĂ© is busy planning their wedding.
