Nicole Scherzinger is reportedly set to quit the UK version of The X Factor in order to concentrate on making music.
The former Pussycat Dolls singer, who has been a judge on the popular TV show for two years, is said to be keen to focus her efforts on recording new material, which will be her first since Killer Love in 2011.
The star signed a $4.5million deal with Sony Records, according to recent reports on the web.
Now a source has told The Sun in London: “She put her music career on hold last year but now she wants to focus on her music”.
This follows the news that former judge Simon Cowell is returning to the UK X Factor, having quit the US version a few weeks ago.
The rumors about Nicole’s departure have however been played down by a spokesperson for Scherzinger. In a statement on Daily Mail it is said that “Nicole is still in discussions with X Factor bosses about the show”.
Despite the statement, speculation as to who could potentially replace her in the UK has been widespread, and Brit singer Cheryl Cole appears to be one of the favourites. Earlier this week Simon Cowell revealed that he has been trying to persuade Cole to return for a months and if Nicole was to opt out, the door would open for her return.
