In a one- off photo shoot for Sports Illustrated, Kate Upton has taken to the skies.
The magazine celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and in order to make it unique they chose to take the same route as George Clooney and Sandra Bullock in Gravity.
Unlike the 10 time Oscar nominated movie the theme of the shoot was very much skin based, with Kate Upton showing off her finest assets in a tightly fitted bikini.
The model is pictured posing mid-air in a golden bikini under zero-gravity conditions, putting both her modelling skills and her bikini straps to the test.
MJ Day, senior editor of the magazine said “We have been almost everywhere in the past 50 years with SI Swimsuit, but we have never done anything like this”.
In a behind the scenes video of the shoot (found below), it certainly looks like it proved a challenge to cope with the bumpy conditions in the back of a specially modified Boeing 747, which was used in order to create the Zero-gravity conditions.
The photography crew and Miss Upton are seen flying around the plane as it stoops towards the ground in order to create the ideal conditions for the pictures to be taken.
MJ Day commented “The ZERO-G experience was really exhilarating for everyone involved. It was certainly the most out-of-the-box shoot. Once again, Kate surprised us all with how she handled modelling in weightlessness”
