Nicolas Cage and Jack Huston have signed on to star as two evil cops who set out to protect a mysterious safe in the upcoming film, ‘The Trust.’ The announcement about the crime thriller’s casting comes as Highland Film Group introduced the film to international buyers at Cannes.
Highland Film Group will handle the worldwide sales for ‘The Trust,’ which will be directed by Alex and Ben Brewer. Ben co-wrote the script with Adam Hirsch.
‘The Trust’ follows two evil cops who discover a strangely hidden and guarded safe filled with mysterious contents. Their lust for it unexpectedly thrusts them into a deadly well of corruption leaving them fighting for their lives and unsure of who to trust.
Electric Shadow Fund, a newly launched UK-based venture that’s set to focus on funding quality independent productions based outside the UK, will help finance ‘The Trust.’ Jay Taylor, who helps lead the company, said Electric Shadow Fund “is excited to be investing in ‘The Trust,’ the latest film from producer Molly Hassell. Molly is aligned with some wonderful filmmakers and we are thrilled to be supporting her next success on this Nicolas Cage project.”
