The origins of the flesh-eating virus that has terrorized the victims of the hit ‘Cabin Fever’ film series will be revealed in the anticipated prequel, ‘Cabin Fever: Patient Zero.’ To showcase hints at the horrifying source of the infection, RLJ/Image Entertainment, which will distribute the horror thriller, has released a trailer and set stills from the movie.
‘Cabin Fever: Patient Zero’ is set to be released on VOD on June 26, and will follow with a theatrical and iTunes release on August 1. ‘The ABCs of Death’ helmer Kaare Andrews directed the prequel, which was helmed by ‘When a Stranger Calls’ scribe Jake Wade Wall. RLJ/Image Entertainment has released the following synopsis for ‘Cabin Fever: Patient Zero’:
A group of friends planned the perfect vacation in the Caribbean, but when they head ashore to explore a remote island, their ultimate bachelor weekend devolves into their worst nightmare. After an ill-fated swim in contaminated water, they stumble upon a seemingly abandoned research facility where a deadly, flesh-eating virus has been unleashed.
