Movie fans’ favorite action stars from Lionsgate’s upcoming film, ‘The Expendables 3,’ are set to roll into theaters on August 15. To help them have the most fun of the summer, the distributor has released a new trailer and banner from the action film, which is the second sequel in the hit series.
‘The Expendables 3‘ features the largest ensemble of action stars ever, includeing original action heroes from the first two films, including Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Terry Crews. The franchise’s next installment also features such new stars as Wesley Snipes, Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas, Kelsey Grammar, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz and Glen Powell.
Fans of the series who are anxious for even more action-hero fun can visit ‘The Expendables 3’s Crew Page on IMDb to meet and get to know the characters. Audiences can also enter the movie’s sweepstakes for a chance to win the Ultimate Action Prize Pack, including an action DVD package, game console, TV and $2,000 Amazon.com gift card.
Australian helmer Patrick Hughes is making his American feature film directorial debut with ‘The Expendables 3,’ which was written by Stallone, Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt. The story for the adventure thriller was created by the actor, who reprises his role of Barney Ross from the first two movies. The sequel is based on characters created by David Callaham, who penned the original film in the franchise, 2010’s ‘The Expendables.’
The following synopsis for ‘The Expendables 3’ has been released by Lionsgate:
In ‘The Expendables 3,’ Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.
