“Fifty Shades of Grey” fans and non-fans alike have been wondering just how the MPAA would rate the film based on the popular “mommy porn” book by E.L. James. For a while, there’d been speculation that the film would just be PG-13 or something unworthy of a film about a book focusing on BDSM. But, after so much speculation, we have our answer, which only raises more questions.

The MPAA has rated “Fifty Shades of Grey” R, as one would expect. But, while there are the reasons people would deem appropriate for a “mommy porn” book – “strong sexual content” and the like – it’s also been, as MTV states, listed as having “unusual behavior.” First of all, that reason is unusual in itself because, let’s face it – when was the last time you heard a film rating involving “unusual behavior”?

I read Awesomely Luvvie’s live-tweet of her reading “Fifty Shades of Grey,” and now that I’ve seen a little bit of what’s inside the book, the reason of “unusual content” seems to suggest that we are in for a hot mess (take that either as a good or bad thing).

“Fifty Shades of Grey” stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan and will come to theaters Feb. 13, the perfect time for fans of the book and couples to take in a movie and celebrate Valentine’s Day. Will you go see it? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
