“Fifty Shades of Grey” is quickly becoming the film on everyone’s lips, and the controversial film continues its news destruction with the latest headline it’s acquired. The film has become the quickest selling R-rated film in the history of movie ticket website Fandango.
The Hollywood Reporter states that advance tickets of the Dakota Johnson-Jamie Dornan starrer has already sold more advance tickets (which went on sale last Sunday) than other big name films like “Gone Girl,” “Sex and the City 2” an “The Hangover Part II.” Of course, we can assume the big rush to get the tickets is not only because of the fans. It’s also because people want to see that “unusual behavior” is that the MPAA described in their rating of the film. Everyone wants to see just what’s up in Christian Grey’s room of sex domination.
This is just the latest headline the film has made. Recently, Entertainment Weekly reported that Morality in Media criticized the film and it’s rating, stating that “R” isn’t strong enough to describe the film. The group believes the rating “severely undermines the violent themes in the film and does not adequately inform parents and patrons of the film’s content.”
