Vin Diesel and his family of the beloved ‘The Fast and the Furious’ franchise are going for one last ride as vengeance hits home in the new one-sheet poster and trailer for the series’ upcoming seventh installment, ‘Furious 7.’ The poster and theatrical trailer were released by Universal Pictures, which will distribute the upcoming action thriller sequel in theaters and IMAX across America on April 3, 2015.
The newest clip for the sixth sequel in the box-office smash franchise follows Diesel’s character, Dominic Toretto, and Letty Ortiz driving together in a car, as he narrates that the most important thing in life will always be family. Shots of Dominic’s sister, Mia, her husband, Brian O’Conner, and their friends, Roman and Tej, are also shown before he receives a call from Deckard Shaw.
The mysterious Deckard warns that while Dominic doesn’t know him yet, he’s about to figure out who he is. Dominic’s house is then blown up, before he tells his friends their sins from London, which were chronicled in ‘Fast and Furious 6,’ followed them home to L.A. Luke Hobbs, the DSS agent who pursued Dominic and his friends in the series’ previous two installments, also warns them that Deckard is the brother of Owen Shaw, the antagonist of the last film. Luke reveals that Deckard is a Special Forces assassin, as shots of the villain are shown of him running through a forest with a gun. The DSS agent warns that Deckard is a monster, as shots of the two battling in a lab are shown. As a bomb is detonated in the room, Luke is thrown through the window.
As Dominic declares he’s headed out for one last ride to track their new nemesis down, after their sins in London followed them home to L.A., he’s warned that he and his friends are facing imminent danger from Deckard. As Dominic answers he doesn’t have friends, he has family, he’s joined by Brian and their crew again for another life-or-death situation. The group embarks on more shoot-outs, fist fights and most importantly, car chases.
‘The Conjuring’ helmer James Wan made his directorial debut in ‘The Fast and the Furious’ series with ‘Furious 7.’ The film was written by returning franchise scribe, Chris Morgan, who penned every installment since ‘The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.’ The upcoming follow-up welcomed back such series favorites as Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Dwayne Johnson, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. They were joined by several international action stars who are new to the franchise, including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey, Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell.
