Parents are receiving the gift no one wants this Father’s Day weekend-a visit from Bughuul in a new teaser video from the anticipated horror sequel, ‘Sinister 2.’ The children who have fallen under the influence of the antagonist pagan deity are saying “Night Night Daddy” in the clip from the follow-up to the hit 2012 horror film, ‘Sinister.’
‘Citadel’ director Ciarán Foy took over helming duties from Scott Derrickson, who directed the original film, which starred Ethan Hawke, Juliet Rylance and Fred Thompson. Derrickson stayed on board with the franchise to pen the sequel’s script with C. Robert Cargill, after the two wrote the screenplay for the first movie together. The follow-up, which will be released nationwide on August 21 by Gramercy Pictures, stars James Ransone, Shannyn Sossamon, Lea Coco and Robert and Dartanian Sloan.
Gramercy Pictures gas released the following synopsis for ‘Sinister 2’:
In the aftermath of the shocking events in ‘Sinister,’ a protective mother, Courtney (Shannyn Sossamon of ‘Wayward Pines’) and her 9-year-old twin sons, Dylan and Zach (real-life brothers Robert and Dartanian Sloan), find themselves in a rural house marked for death as the evil spirit of Bughuul continues to spread with frightening intensity.
