The extreme struggles a person must contend with in order to keep a mysterious disappearance unsolved, particularly in a small town where everyone is somehow connected to both the perpetrator and the victim, can often be difficult. The process can become even more challenging when even one person becomes suspicious of the criminal and their actions. That’s certainly the case with the beloved and seemingly innocent title character in the upcoming crime drama, ‘Uncle John.’ To showcase the increasing suspicions of John’s adversary, Danny, about John’s involvement in the disappearance of Danny’s brother, Dutch, Shockya has a new exclusive clip from the mystery film, titled ‘The Killer Always Comes Back.’
In ‘The Killer Always Comes Back,’ John and Danny are setting next to each other in their trucks near where Dutch was murdered. Danny asks John if Dutch visited him before he died, to which the title character responds that he hadn’t seen his brother in a long time. John continues the conversation by saying a lot of people in town have been worried about Dutch over the past few weeks.
As John then says he’ll leave Danny alone, the victim’s brother responds by revealing he’s sitting at that location because that’s where Dutch’s truck was found. So Danny believes that’s where his brother died, and many times criminals will return to the scene where they committed a crime. So he’s been watching who has driven by the crime scene, in order to try to find any suspects. John tries to remain calm as he notes that it’s a busy road, so Danny must have seen a lot of people drive by, to which he answers that he has seen quite a few people.
FilmBuff is set to release ‘Uncle John’ in select theaters and On Demand on September 18. The distribution company has released the following synopsis for the drama:
Dutch, a small town bully turned born again Christian, has gone missing. John, a loved and well-respected member of the community, is not a suspect, but has everything to do with it. Rumors and theories about Dutch’s fate are main topics of discussion all around town. Dutch’s younger brother, Danny, who shares the family’s bad reputation, has his own theory about the mystery and it centers on John. Meanwhile, John’s nephew, Ben, leads a life replete with snarky jokes and gourmet coffee as a hip Chicago motion graphics designer. His confused and budding relationship with his coworker, Kate, eventually leads them on an impromptu adventure north to see the town he grew up in. They arrive just as John struggles to navigate the increasing threats and pressure from Danny’s suspicions.
‘Uncle John’ stars John Ashton as the title character, Ronnie Gene Blevins as Danny, Alex Moffat as Ben and Jenna Lyng as Kate. The drama was directed by first-time helmer, Steven Piet, who also co-wrote the script with Erik Crary.
