Four small-town friends are banding together to save the fate of the entire planet in the official trailer, poster and stills for the upcoming action comedy, ‘Lazer Team.’ The sci-fi movie’s assets, which show the friends stumbling across an alien crash and subsequently becoming responsible to save the future of mankind, were released by its studios, Amplify and YouTube Red.

‘Lazer Team’ is set to be released in theaters on January 27, before it debuts on YouTube Red in early February. The action film was directed by Matt Hullum, who also co-wrote the script with Burnie Burns and Chris Demarais. The sci-fi comedy, which broke the Indiegogo record for “Most Funded Film Campaign” in 2014, features Burnie Burns, Gavin Free, Michael Jones, Allie DeBerry, Colton Dunn and Alan Richardson.

Amplify and YouTube Red have released the following synopsis for ‘Lazer Team’:

When four small-town losers stumble across an alien crash site containing an incredible battle suit, they soon find themselves responsible for the fate of the entire planet. With this new alien equipment genetically bound to them, and the government hot on their heels, the foursome have no choice but to work together as one to save humanity. All they have to do is learn to use a strange alien device meant for only one-person, train for a battle against an omnipotent enemy, and not kill each other in the process. They may not be strong, smart or talented… but they’re Lazer Team.
